Notify European Citizens that their Sessions are Being Recorded

"In this video, John Martinez shows you how this policy notifies EU citizens that their session is being recorded in compliance with German Work Council regulations. 👉 What exactly does this policy do? This policy notifies the user located in the EU that their session is being recorded and that actions will be logged upon connection to a managed resource. 👉 Why it matters German Work Council requirements for session recordings are crucial to maintaining employee trust and avoiding legal repercussions. Germany's strict labor and data protection laws emphasize employee privacy. Failing to notify users about session recordings or gain the necessary approvals can lead to fines, legal challenges, and strained workplace relationships. By being transparent and compliant, organizations not only protect themselves but also demonstrate respect for their employees’ rights and autonomy."

You’ll notice there is a location requirement for this policy, along with a notification to the user.

Since I am not in the EU, I will change the location to North America to demonstrate.

I’ve updated the policy.

The resource I’m connecting to is a PostgreSQL database, and I will connect to it using the PostgreSQL command line.

Once connected, I am notified in compliance with German regulations.
