Integrating AWS Secrets Manager into a Windows RDP Workflow

Windows RDP allows remote access to another computer over a network connection. strongDM controls and audits access to the infrastructure you connect to over RDP and integrates with AWS Secrets Manager to safely handle passwords, API keys, and other sensitive credentials.

AWS Secrets Manager is an Amazon service that securely stores, rotates and retrieves database credentials, OAuth tokens, API keys and other secrets throughout their lifecycle. It has built-in integration for Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon DocumentDB. The strongDM proxy fetches credentials from AWS Secrets Manager, reinforcing the safe handling of those secrets. Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Protocol (Windows RDP) allows users to interface with their remote Windows PC or server over a network connection. Keyboard and mouse are shared with the remote machine, allowing users full access to its tools and software. strongDM supports remote interfaces like Windows RDP, allowing users to securely manage and control access to Window Servers.
